My Car history
Top Gear and Grant Tour likes to ask people what their "car history" is, and though I'm nobofy, thought I'd just capture that here, since I have had a somewhat interesting (albeit "poor man") varied history of driving and car ownership.
Vehicle Ownership Bullet List
Not counting the fair number of vehicles I drove many years before I had a drivers license.
First car at the top, latest vehicles at the bottom (chronological order, includes co-ownership or regular driving):
- 1984 Oldsmobile Station (my mother's car, but the first I drove regularly and legally) (brown)
- 1986 Chevrolet Scottsdale 2WD long-bed "heavy half ton" pickup truck: 305 cu" 700R4 383 positraction rear-end (later souped up top speed ~170 mph, 0-60 5.7 seconds). (white)
- 1973/4? Ford interceptor 429 cu in C6 2-door (government green, later primer black)
- 1972 Ford Galaxy 500 400 cu in 2 brrl 2-door (green, later primer black)
- 1974 Chevrolet Nova 4-door straight six (primer black)
- 1967 Mustang (totalled from field with no engine or trans), upgraded to original 289 cu", and '68 hood. (green)
- 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 318 cu", 2 brrl, later I upgraded to 4 brrl Cadliac intake and 600 cfm 4-brrl Rochester Quadrajet and dual exhaust turbo mufflers (white)
- 1974 Dodge Charger 318 cu" 2 brrl, later dualed out exhaust. (mustard, later primer black)
- 1970/1 Camaro 302? cu" (blue)
- 1967 Mustang, straight six (?)
- 198x Ford F-100/150 2WD, straight six (blue)
- 1983 Ford Bronco "Lightning" V8 351, later upgraded cam, dist, carb, exhaust, intake. Consistently beat 2002 Camaro SS in 0-35 mph sprints.
